David Mitros was my longest-term musical partner, starting in the mid eighties and ending, for the most part, when I moved to California in 1995.
He passed in 2017. He’d be thrilled I’m revitalizing some of our home-fi recordings.
We’d start with prayer: to be with God in our explorations; to be open to spiritual insight. I often experienced my vocalizations as color and form, and in that place I felt invited to see, and to shape, my relationship with Spirit.
David was a fan of alternate tunings and a member of the Just Intonation Society. The harmonics in his sound drove my melodic response.
Later I’d work with our recordings; adding, editing, making songs of them, or leaving them intact, like this one.
